Today's Update
Aug. 17th, 2020 12:45 pm~ Went out for an hour to get a couple of errands done. Relatively unexciting.
~ Random guy at the bus stop approached me to start talking about how he got kicked out of the homeless shelter, and how all his stuff is across the street piled on his walker in bags... And then he sees my cane, and says that he lost his cane. And I'm sitting there awkwardly wondering if he expects me to be "nice" and offer him mine or something. I said there was nothing I could really do to help him, and he seemed disappointed, but walked away, slowly making his way across the street, stopping a bit before he made it to the sidewalk and staring at approaching cars and making them drive around him. When I got on the bus, he came back over and just kind of stared at the bus for a while. Then back across the street he went, grabbing his walker but putting the bag of his stuff on the ground, and headed back to the bus I was on. He spoke to the bus driver about something, I couldn't quite hear what was said, but I did hear the bus driver say, "Look, you dropped your bag over there." So back he goes across the street but he doesn't bother picking up the bag. He just stands a little further into the road and further inconveniencing traffic for a while before eventually getting off the road.
Clearly there was something wrong, though I have no idea who I could have called to try and help. Or even if anywhere could help. I don't know the number for crisis centres or homeless shelters or anything like that, and even if somehow my cane might have helped him, it's not like I can just arbitrarily give it up like that. I hope he's okay, one way or the other.
~ Less pain, but still plenty of brain fog and fatigue, which I guess is still better than what it was. Pretty tempted to go take a nap, though, since I'm pretty tired right now, and tomorrow is going to be a long day for me.
